No matter what you like to do when you are on a holiday, there are various places to visit in Uttarakhand like Badrinath and Kedarnath for the religious travelers and Rishikesh, also a holy spot but offers tourists adventure sports and other activities.

The vast Himalayan Mountains decorate the city’s landscape and waterfalls, rocky mountain terrain, fresh air, sandy banks, greet the travelers that come here to rest, rejuvenate and relax. The holy river Ganga flows through the middle of Rishikesh, and the town is settled on the either sides of the river.

Rishikesh is often referred to as the World Capital of Yoga and offers several adventure sports like rafting in the turbulent waves of the Ganges. An Uttarakhand holiday package will definitely include a visit to the hippy town of Rishikesh. However, Uttarakhand packages may leave out some experiences that the city is best known for – yoga and meditation.

Not only is it the yoga capital but also the spiritual capital of the world in many ways. With the advent of famous sages like maha rishimahesh, vishwa guru sri maha madaleshwarji and many others, the peaceful environment and beautiful landscape everywhere you look make Rishikesh the ideal destination for Yoga enthusiasts everywhere in the world.

The dense forests that surround this hill station make the air pure and serene and every breath cleanses your lungs. There is a sense of peace here that is simply incomparable and the only way to experience it is to visit Rishikesh.

Visit the Sivananda ashram & school of yoga, rishikul yogshala, and the sri ved niketan ashram. They also have a school on the banks of river. The Ganga aarti on the river ghats is a spiritual experience like none other.
