The Best Diving Experience at the Grand Palladium in Ibiza

This year, we took our holiday to Ibiza. We stayed at the Grand Palladium White Island Resort & Spa, as we wanted something a bit special. It was a fantastic choice, the Grand Palladium Hotels & Resorts are very special, in fact it exceeded all our expectations. The location is fantastic, and we spend the first day just relaxing on the beach.

Hotel in Playa d’en Bossa: Grand Palladium White Island Resort & Spa

The Grand Palladium White Island Resort & Spa is right in the centre of Playa d’en Bossa, and the beach there seems to go on forever. In the evening we went to one of the hotel’s restaurants. The La Doña serves fantastic Mexican food and we had more tacos then we should have. On we went to one of the local bars, which are just a short walk from the hotel. It was a great atmosphere and we stayed out quite late. Time just got away from us! That didn’t matter because our hotel room proved to be the best place to sleep in the next morning before having a relaxing coffee on our balcony.

The view of the Mediterranean was stunning! In the afternoon we took a tour around the island. It is such a beautiful place and well worth exploring. But once we had settled in, we made the most of all the other activities the Grand Palladium Hotels & Resorts offer. My favourite was diving in the ocean. I had no idea that the Mediterranean had such a huge variety of fish and other sea life. I was really worried that it would be cold, but the water temperatures were very pleasant so we were able to stay underwater the maximum amount of time. We learnt that the diving around Ibiza is the best in the Mediterranean because the water around there is exceptionally clear and so we had great visibility. The sea floor is pretty rocky but covered in all kinds of algae and sponges, as well as a sea grass that is so ecologically important that UNESCO even recognises its role in the Mediterranean.

I would have never thought that a place where humans have lived so long would have so much wildlife. We saw a lot of different fish, as well as some lobsters, but my favourite was a little octopus! It was incredible and an experience which I will never forget.

When we got back, we were right back into the hustle and bustle of the local restaurants and bars, as well as all the activities the hotel had to offer. We especially enjoyed the variety of restaurants and being able to go out for a drink so close to our hotel. The Grand Palladium White Island Resort & Spa really offers the best of both worlds, the wonderful nature and wilderness of the island and the social activities and nightlife!

Despite all those indulgences, we felt healthier and more relaxed than ever coming back, thanks to the Grand Palladium Hotels & Resorts’ focus on healthy foods made from high quality and often local ingredients. We also made the most of the swimming pools, as well as the yoga and archery classes. Now that we’re back, we’re already counting down the days until our next summer vacation.
